The Salem Housing Authority Maintenance Team maintains 715 units of public housing consisting of 23 developments throughout the city of Salem.
We have nine skilled laborers and trades people, who’s duties include unit turnovers, preventive maintenance, custodial services, trash services, grounds maintenance – including snow removal, manual labor, painting, vehicle and mechanical repairs, exterminations, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Along with a myriad of day to day duties to keep our properties decent, safe, and sanitary.
The maintenance team’s administrative staff is the control center of the maintenance department. We provide important support to all of our SHA residents through communication, personnel management, work order management, project management, and inspectional services.
Our Maintenance Team is here to serve the Salem Housing Authority’s Residents and Communities. We focus on maintaining the properties through performing inspections and responding to routine and emergency repairs in a timely matter.
We have a 24hr maintenance line – 978-744-7616 – to report all maintenance issues. It is important that our residents call the maintenance line with any work orders or maintenance issues so that we have a record of the call. Translation, for all languages, is available for all calls. When in doubt, call it in! We prefer it.
