Affordable Housing Lottery
April 20, 2021
The affordable housing lottery is a process to lease affordable housing units that are created by local action. An example of a local action unit is an affordable unit that is created within a new market rate development project per the required of a Planning Board decision.
The affordable units are restricted to households that do not exceed the income criteria identified for the project. The housing lottery for each project will be administered by a lottery agent that has been certified by the Department of Housing and Community Development. The lottery agent will vary across projects. There will be a public meeting for each project to provide information and answer questions about the lottery process.
Each project includes a flyer that will identify the income eligibility, the lottery agent contact information, the application deadline and the time and date of the information session. Please direct questions about the project and or the lottery process to the lottery agent specified for the project.
